Corrections Policy
Last updated: August 1, 2026
Our commitment
HinduClarity aims to correct meaningful factual, attribution, quotation, translation, link, and contextual errors. Corrections are based on evidence, not simply on whether a reader agrees with a theological or interpretive position.
How to request a correction
Use the Contact page and write “Correction request” at the start of your message. Include:
- The page title and URL
- The exact sentence, image, caption, or claim at issue
- Why you believe it is inaccurate or misleading
- A reliable supporting source, preferably with a page, section, verse, or stable link
- Your name and a reply address if you want a response
How requests are reviewed
We compare challenged material with appropriate primary and secondary sources, consider whether the issue reflects a factual error or a difference among traditions, and consult additional expertise when necessary. Complex questions involving translation, sectarian interpretation, history, medicine, or law may take longer to review.
Types of changes
- Minor edit: spelling, grammar, formatting, or a broken link that does not alter meaning
- Clarification: wording or context added to prevent a reasonable misunderstanding
- Correction: a factual or attribution error is fixed
- Substantive update: significant new material changes or expands the article
- Retraction or removal: reserved for material that cannot be responsibly corrected, presents serious harm, or infringes rights
Correction notes
When a change materially affects the meaning or conclusion of a published page, a dated correction or update note explains what changed. Routine copy edits and formatting repairs generally do not require a public note.
Disagreements and appeals
If a request is declined, we may explain the decision where practical. A requester may submit additional reliable evidence for reconsideration. HinduClarity may preserve multiple well-supported interpretations rather than choosing one as universally authoritative.
Response expectations
Legitimate requests are reviewed within a reasonable period. Response times vary according to complexity and the evidence involved.
